My manga arrived two days ago!  Unfortunately, I'm having scanner problems, so I can't start scanning them straight away.  Instead, I'm working on translating each chapter so that, when I do get my scanner up and running, I can clean them up and scanlate them! :D

Awesome! I'd have liked to do them (I tried once before with two collaborators, but they had wildly opposed opinions on scanlation style), but I've got too many other things going on and the 2005 and 1978 Microman manga series both take priority for me. :) I've done 3 chapter scanlations of the 2005, have translations done with a friend mostly ready for scanlating the next three, and a script that needs reworking for the first chapter or so of the original 1974 manga and scans ready made for the first 12 2005 chapters and of the first 3 1978 volumes (original printings, not the later, more complete wideban reprints).

If you get all 3 done, there's actually more that followed that was not compiled that ran in installments in Comic Bom Bom and at the very end were inserts with some of the toys (the latter later compiled I believe in reduced format in one of the toy collector books, I think it was Microman Chronicle). I might eventually be able to get those scanned from my collection (or get a friend to help out).

I think the English-language Microman/Micronaut toy collector community would really enjoy a chance to read the manga, as most of them are unfamiliar with it or can't read nihongo. I'll help pass the info on if you get these going. :D

Oh, sorry if I haven't introduced myself (though I've already linked here on my LJ earlier--love the Purple/Flame collage!). Have we met before online? Your name seems familiar to me from somewhere. I'm very involved in the English Microman and Micronauts communities and a little previously in Japan. :D

Although this isn't my first time translating manga, it is my first time having to do all the scanning, cleaning etc. Do you think I should be using Photoshop, or is there another program that would be better suited? :)

Would you happen to have the anime in digital format? I've only got the Cantonese version from when I taped it on TVBJ and I have a site to stream the Cantonese version from, but I'd really like the original Japanese version. I've been looking for a long time and it's proving extremely difficult to find ><

I've written a few fanfics for Microman, but this is my first time actually starting a community and compiling resources. But I have accounts in most main networking communities/blogs and I'm almost always under "relinquished" or "relinquished972", so you've probably seen me begging for help finding Microman or requesting something :D
