Yesterday was just incredible. R&M and I went on a trail ride through gorgeous land that reminded me SOOOO much of VA! It was chilly, but really sunny and beautiful out, and we stopped to picnic in the woods. Pony was great, as usual, plowing through the underbrush. He decided to jump rather than step over one log, and I ended up almost but not quite out of the saddle - love the Aussie!
I heard back from the woman selling the sidesaddle I want to buy - if anyone wants to see pics I posted them at http://filebox.vt.edu/users/kmitchel/Western%20Sidesaddle/. It's nifty - a replica of an early 1900s "Western" Sears-Roebuck sidesaddle. A friend has one of these, and she says it's really comfy and secure. She's done 25 mile rides in hers, which is great, 'cause I want to do competitive trail rides sidesaddle with Kniggit this year. I'll get the saddle around mid-march, and with any luck it will fit both of us.
