I occasionally think of things to write here, but by the time I sit down to type it out I decide that they're dumb/silly and end up with nothing, which isn't good either. So here are some half-formed thoughts that I would make more coherent if I had time/energy.
- I bought tickets to Washington National Opera's Fidelio. The photo indicates that the setting will be Europe in the first half of the 20th century. /quiet sob
- Speaking of bullets, I finally saw Bullet Train, which may be the most violent movie I've ever enjoyed. Brian Tyree Henry is a national treasure.
- I still have not seen a Cybertruck, but I did see a car with "douchebag" spray-painted on one side. The car was pretty ordinary (maybe a tan Toyota Camry), so it must have been inspired by something the driver/owner did.
- The new hire is doing well, and I am optimistic that I'll actually be able to step away from work during my next week off.
- We have had four days in which the thermometer on our back deck hit 100 degrees.
- As exhausting as the heat is, I still prefer summer to winter, because the produce in summer is so good. Not my own produce, mind you. My "garden" has yet to yield a single tomato or zucchini. The herbs are hanging in there.
- There's a new farmers market nearby that has had pretty good stuff so far and has enough vendors that I don't have to go to another one.
- I bought a new laptop back in April, and I haven't logged onto Twitter on this machine. There are a couple of accounts that I miss, and I suspect I will cave once football season starts, but given the state of the world I think I'm more sane without it.
- My vintage Tupperware still sparks joy. Might post some photos soon.
