Here are more photos from our trip to Artomatic on Sunday with Twfkat.
These linocuts are by Michelle Casto. A sign on the wall said they were inspired by a mug book of 19th-century criminal mugshots in the National Archives.
This one was inspired by the DC Public Library's Music Section.
The Capitol 2022, by Mohammad Obaid
I'm kicking myself for not getting the artist's name. I think it's made of glass but it looks like a giant geode. It's probably four feet at its widest point.
From the Before You Cut series by Alexandra Michaels
I remembered Howard Thomas Hay's work from a previous Artomatic, but not this particular work of a jellyfish devouring a person.
Hay and Betsy Jones must've coordinated to share the same room for their miniatures. This one is Jones', about an accordion party.
Wall amoebas by Beth Yaman
We were glad to see the works by Jun Lee, who Twfkat knows.
I'm going to try to buy this painting (Lake Anna foosball); Brent's been emailing the artist, Lisa Laohapan, for me.
