History;
Louisa is the youngest daughter of Catie Worth-Canns. Born a year after Catie married Mike Canns, ten years following the death of Catie's first husband and Lou's older brothers' father, Lou was the bandaid of an already troubled marriage. Lou grew up happily with her doting brother's, the three of them acting like parents themselves while Catie worked hard and Mike was absent as ever. Lou barely knew her father, and looked at her grandparents are being more paternal.
When she was fifteen, Lou moved in with her brother Jane for six months while he was on leave from the Air Force, her parents were divorcing, and Louisa didn't want to be around them. When Jane was re-enlisted and deployed, Lou moved back in with her mother and took Jane's pet dogs, Chomper and Mars, and his mice, Pinky and Brain, with her.
Lou was seventeen when her powers first manifested. This however, was the one thing she didn't feel she could tell her brothers, and hid if from her family, and tried not to use it at first. After the accidental burning of her favourite bedsheets, she relented and started practising the safe use of her powers in the privacy of her own room.
At first she was simply heating up liquids, boiling water, warming a bath or heating her cold tea or coffee. She grew more confident in time and started using it on every day things. Lou was able to heat her body temperature, so she never felt the cold the same, she was also able to heat metals to melting point, and plastics.
With her life slowly shaping, Lou put her power to the back of her mind, focusing on her photography career but still using her powers in her everyday life. It became second nature, despite her being so careful about it. It wasn't until word passed that Jane had been sent to Russia on 'assignment' that Lou found out that she wasn't the only mutant in the family.
Weighing the pros and cons in her head, and missing her brother like crazy, Lou made the attempt to contact the S.H.I.E.L.D recruitment, finding as much information as she could and using certain 'sources' that were a little less than legal. Eventually, she discovered the nature of her brother's assignment and made the decision, getting in touch with Nick Fury and expressing interest in the 'top secret' team.
