spn_fridayfive 1. What's the single episode that's affected you the most so far? And why/how so? Devil's Trap stayed with me long after it ended. Probably because I only watched for the first time a week before season 2's premiere was shown. Still, it's one my favourite episodes so far of any series. Who doesn't love families that love to their deaths, literally.
2. If fandoms were to collide, which character (from which fandom) would you place in the Winchesters' lives? Or, which fandom would you place the Winchesters in? Why? The X-Files is definitely not a surprise choice but inevitable, with or without the common crew involved in both shows. Both are inherently about family and the truth, and the ways and journeys that took them. Mulder and Dean will of course be unconsciously drawn to each other while Scully and Sam watch on, bemused.
3. Considering the way that Dean and Sam were brought up, do you think their childhood fears are any different from what children's fears normally are? Not really, though John Winchester certainly stretched the fear, gave a name to it and a method to kill it at the same time. I notice that their fears that carried to adulthood [that we know of] are planes and clowns, things are technically man-made. Nothing supernatural about them, really.
4. What do you think Dean and Sam were like in school? (Ie, in terms of grades, friend-making, etc?) Sam will try to assimilate instantly in school. I believe he loves the constancy of school life and looks at it as a form of escape from home and their normal life. For him to get into Stanford despite all that moving [or not. Is the Winchester's Nomad Life a fanon or canon deal? The two elder Winchesters could have just started moving around once Sam was in Stanford, not before, though there is that flashback in 'Nightmare' (maybe there were on a roadtrip during Dean's school vacation?). Or am I having a brain fart here? :o)].
Dean will probably hang back in school. The quiet one that everyone knows about and just too freaked out to talk to. Until he smiled, of course and then they'll think he's crazy. [What?]. He's probably does well at school too but smothered that deserved adulation for Sam. It's all about Sam, right, just like The X-Files is all about Mulder? ;o)
5. What kind of pets can you imagine the boys having? I bet they are the kind of kids that brought in any hurt animal into house, nurse it to health and then, upon the insistence of John or Dean, would release it back outside. And John passing up a chance teaching the boys how to mend others and themselves at the same time? No way. Though there would have been a dog or a cat that stayed and stayed. When it died, they probably hardened and refused to let any other animal get them that way again stay.
