i'm alive, although you wouldn't be able to tell from my livejournal.
life has been good lately. friday afternoon/night: hung out at kaitlin's with the u-high kids: sue, lauren, kaitlin, austin, bryan, cody, craig, eryn, marinell. CLAIRE WAS THERE TOO AND SHE IS AWESOME AND DANCED GHETTO AND WAS COOL AND IS THE LIFE OF EVERY PARTY (seriously, she's cool). good times, as usual. lots of craziness: impromptu dance parties, sliding down stairs, eryn constantly trying to seduce me (she's in seventh grade, by the way), running half-naked around the lakes, several people in kaitlin's bed at once, getting doused in perfume, you know how we do.
saturday: woke up, went outside and started skating. told mom i was gonna walk to jackson park to skate these really ridiculously smooth bleachers, and she offered to take us downtown or something. how do you turn that down? called eric and michael, they were being bored at eric's so we went to lsu. i was sore from PE friday, but lots of good skating. bonelesses are really fun. took a lot of pictures, hoorah!
hurried home late that afternoon so michael could go do a "thing" (cough cough movies with becca) and i could go hang out with sue. got taco bell on the way home, but of course it took a ridiculously long time, something like 20 minutes? honestly, you're taco bell, it's all meat and cheese and a tortilla, it shouldn't be that hard. but whatevs. made it over to sue's, we hung out, it was good. went to eric's afterwards, hung out with him and michael and kelli and josh. watched a lot of next, such a ridiculously funny show. "bullsheep" and "f**k yeah!" (had to be there.) they played some blitz on playstation, also very funny. went to sleep.
today: woke up, ate some pancakes, watched eric and michael play more blitz, laughed at it even more. went home so i could prepare for "band practice" (i personally prefer the term "jamming." practicing makes it sound like something you're obligated to do, like a sport). yes, i have yet to say it on livejournal, but i am a member of a ska band. we suck, BUT we're getting better. main point is, it's fun. we have a myspace (ugh), so all you kids can check us out:
laundry day: music for your dirty clothes. (and no, this does not change my policy of hating myspace with a passion. jared made the myspace for the band, because apparently, you don't exist as a person or anything else if you don't have a myspace. phew, well there's that minirant.) but yeah, jamming today was particularly fun and it felt like we actually got somewhere. finished jamming, hung around, went over to eric's to buy an awesome watch from kelli, which leads me into a....
FASHION UPDATE (wow, that was really gay)
a couple of weekends ago sue and i went to some vintage stores in search of cool stuff and records to make record bowls. i found a pair of plaid pants. i had some doubts about buying them, but once the girl that works there referred to them as "kickass"....i was sold. and only $10! these pants...are very hard to describe, due to their severe awesomeness. i'm almost positive they're homemade, and made for an old woman. elastic waist? yeah buddy. but man are they awesome. i wore them today while jamming and it was good stuff. all you kids with myspace can see them in action on the band's page. for those of you against myspace (damn the man, fight the power!) i'll be sure to post some pictures fairly soon. trust me on this one though, these pants are amazing.
i was notified saturday while skating by eric and michael that kelli had a checkered watch she was willing to sell for $5. being the ska kid that i am, i immediately took a liking to the sound of this watch. well i forgot about it while hanging out at eric's last night, but i remembered earlier tonight. we had to take eric's contact stuff over to him anyway (by the way, he can see now!), so i figured i'd inquire about this watch. needless to day, it's awesome. slightly uncomfortable, but whatever, it looks cool!
so those are my awesome fashion acquisitions for the past few weeks. talk about style...plaid and checkers!
as for the near future: my wide angle lens apapter should be coming in tomorrow, awesomeness. i also have four rolls of film that need developing, more awesomeness. next weekend is a three day weekend, thanks for being awesome marting luther king, jr.! seriously though, he was awesome.
this post was ridiculously long, but hey, now you know what's up with my life.
(pictures...eventually.)
