So let's see - the kids are awesome. Rob talks more and more every day. I still worry about him because he's a tip-toe walker. I mean, a bad one. He's built up ankle muscles. I think his calf muscle has actually shortened from it, or maybe he toe walks because it was short to begin with. I had an uncle with that. If you tell him "put your feet down!" He will, but I've been saying that since he hit about two. When he was first learning to walk, he could actually curl his toes under and walk on the knuckles, but apparently the doctor says that's normal. All I know is if anyone sees ME doing that, they best call 9-1-1, because it's not intentional.
I think I need a new doctor for them. Mainly, I go to him because my doctor brings his kids to him, and I figure hey, if he's not a good doctor, why would the guy I trust bring his kids there? But here's the thing- I never get any definitive answers. I'm not looking for something to be wrong with Rob- I'm looking to do what I can to help him catch up to EB. I mean, tell me something. Tell me EB is above average, and I'll be happy, but I don't think that's the case. I think he's just far behind. He understands well, like if you say "Rob! Go pick up your Thomas stuff!" He complains and cries but he goes and puts it all back in the Thomas the Tank Engine bin. If you say "Go brush your teeth." He will. But if he wants something, pretty much it's a guessing game because he points and says "that!" Then screams and carries on while you stand there going: "Juice? Milk? Cocoa? Toast? Bread and Butter? Jar of pickles? Timmy's stuck in a mine shaft? What!!!!!!!!"
It's frustrating. They can tell me some things that it's not, which is good, but I can't get any help for him unless they know what "it" is. I worry a ton.
EB is doing fine - she doesn't toe walk except in dance class, and she's decided she's going to be "Clarabelle" from The Nutcracker. I tried explaining that Clarabelle was the cow from the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Clara is the girl from the Nutcracker, but no dice.
I'm doing good, I survived my Uncles' lengthy stay, and honestly, towards the the end, it wasn't so bad. He's kind of insightful. I think it's because his kids turned out all sorts of messed up that he's been through every situation imaginable, so he can offer up decent advice. The kids absolutely loved him being here, and cried when he left. My mom got to say "I told you so."
So... yeah.
Other news, Happy early Birthday to "Nox" - just in case I forget to post in the next couple of days. And an early congrats to Reb, who's due this month.
JACK! If you're out there! Happy Birthday to you too, buddy!
