Day of Support

Jul 20, 2009 06:52

First of all, I apologize for not using the ribbon icons as my journal and computer are waging a war against icons lately. I'm not able to copy and paste as I used to because it's not converting the format for me. Enough said.

I applaud all the ladies who are behind this effort of support. You are doing a wonderful job and I know from personal experience that there is nothing like LJ to get you through bad times. The incident with my son last year showed me how much you care.

And I think that deep down, we all do, in one way or another. Some are more vocal with their support and others do it from a more private place, but the love and respect and kindness are always present.

My mother died of ALS so I support anyone on LJ dealing with that dreadful disease. There is also diabetes and cancer in my family and I know how hard it can be for anyone who lives with that on a daily basis. A dear friend has a relative with Alzheimer's and I applaud her efforts to try and keep her sibling's memory alive in her head by trying to remember all the good times.

Bottom line, I'm here for anyone who needs me. Feel free to PM if you'd like to talk about ALS in particular as I nursed my mother for 2 years before she passed away.

Thanks again to all who have participated in this great display of support.

Michele
