First off, it was cold today. Really cold. I'm glad the heating is working again after the spurt of power loss and drainage. I got up.. uhm.. around 9:15 to try and make myself useful in the morning since I knew I'd get nothing done in the evening. It worked, sorta. I was able to at least choose my font for my Illustrator project before the stupid thing locked up. Again! I seriously need to resubscribe to my anti-virus program that apparently ended without my knowledge.
Aaaanyways. The first part of my morning after that was spent cleaning on my room, sorting some clothes and preparing a new load for the washer. I still need to do some.
Lunch consisted of nothing too special and so did class. I worked on my tedious, annoying project and continued to stay another two hours after class trying to get some work done on both my projects being Illustrator is very ill here and non-existent back at my parent's (where I will be spending my weekend). I worked until I felt I had fried my brain enough. I'm seriously not used to pushing myself non-stop like that and without a tablet too. I've gotten so used to be able to come home and work at my own leisure all through the night. I kept halfway getting up, thinking to myself that I had enough on working with it for now and would go home and start again later until I realized that wasn't possible. If I had left then there would have been no Illustrator for me to work on, especially since by the time I left the doors were locked to those on the outside. Finally at 5pm I called it quits, since I needed to get home and prep for people to come at 6. I picked up my cake. (Strawberry cheesecake ice-cream cake with actual fruit, chocolate syrup and white chocolate chips as well as the words, "Finally 19" on the top written in french. I guess I wanted to go unconventional rather than just having, "Happy Birthday."
It turns out a few couldn't make it, but I understood since college/classes were killing them and it wasn't by choice that they were missing out. The room mates and I talked a bit about random crap until we all headed over to pick up some fantastic burgers to bring back and eat as we watched movies. We ended up watching "The Princess Bride and a few episodes from the first season of Invader Zim. One guy I've become fairly acquainted with in the film department came over and watched some with us, as well as aided in the destruction of the cake. There's still a fourth left, so more for me later! Woot!
This ended around half after 11pm when he left for home and the three of us departed to our own rooms/floors. It was a nice, no, a lovely day. I didn't expect much, but that's what I liked about it: it was simple. I went to class and a few select people wished me a happy birthday and since it was a few I knew they meant it and weren't just saying it to be polite. I received a call from my grandparents (who sang to me over the phone, loud enough that the girls could hear beside me). We all grinned and it was great. My un-biological twin (we share the same birth-date/year) called, leaving a message because I was at class, wishing me a grand day as well. I'm actually going to her "belated" party this Saturday, so that should be fun to see her again.
Now, as this post ends, and I head for bed, I'd like to thank everyone of you here that has made my birthday one that has truly made me smile. Thank you so much for the gifts, and the gifts to come. ::wink:: I feel so loved by all you gals! I wish I could physically hug you all right now rather than just "cyber-hug." Still, I suppose it will have to do... at least until Safire and I win the lottery so we can go around to see every one of you and have our own huge "on-line buddy" party in real life. Some day, perhaps. Some day.
