In the Life of the Mick

Hello all! ::giggles::
Sorry I've been a little distant lately, but things are winding down again now that midterms are over.  What does this mean? Does this mean that I shall be online 24/7?!
Well, no, of course not. What it does mean is that I will have more time to write, banner and just all around chat with you awesome people. Isn't that great?! ::grins expectantly::

Ahem. Anyways, I've currently been working on quite a few things actually-- some of which I feel free to share now, while other's you'll just have to be patient and wait until Friday. ;o)

I have begun an even further pursuit into Illustrator. Some of you may recall my "root beer" well I've been so very busy since then. Here's a few snippets from what I've been doing recently.

Whew! I can't tell you how much agony I went through to get those 100 little sketches of a spider. Not only did they have to be all under the same theme, but a majority had to be non literal. In any case Illustrator is proving to be easier. I still don't understand everything yet and it still aggravates me to no end-- actually so do the mac-mini's we've been using. This of course coming solely from someone who has never used a mac before.

As for writing, I'm moving back and forth between my iy_no_kakera, which should be updated with at least two new chapters by saturday, and my entry for feudal tales which has easily turned into a full one-shot.

In still other news I would like to wish a happy early birthday to Nicole! ::huggles:: Her special day is this Saturday so go make it a good one for her... but you didn't hear that from me. :D While you're at it, remember mine's next thursday, the day before leap day. Just throwing some *cough*innocent hints around.

Many of you may know that I disappeared completely yesterday and a little bit from the day before, well, hee's the answer. Electricity shutdown! Ever since the beginning of this week the power/lights had been dimmed considerably and my computer had been acting up more than usual. Finally after a day and a half of flickering on and off the power just went.. and it stayed went. The strange fact is that we were not the only ones. Apparently there had been a short throughout the entire apartment building. The lights were gone. The heat was gone. The stove stopped working as did the microwave. Basically my room mates and I were forced to endure the darkness with only a few select items actually working which included the status of a few lamps and one very staticy tv in which we amused ourselves with videogames for a while until FINALLY I was able to reach the electric company at 8pm.

They said the problem should be fixed by 10pm and so we waited and waited. It was not until half after 10 however that they arrived to shut off our power completely so they could dig up the wiring for the building and replace it. Everything was back and running a little after 11pm, during which time we three amused ourselves in the most primitive of ways shadow-puppetry, dealing with huge spiders suddenly deciding to come down from the ceiling and rounding up something to eat that did not have to be warmed when we are out of sandwich foods. Crackers and soda anyone? Perhaps a jar of peanut-butter?

Other than that life's been pretty dull. I go to class, I come back, I eat, I work on projects, I find a little time to write and be online and then bed. I'm still looking for a possible job too, but it's looking like working at the school might be my best option. I wonder if they still have openings.
