First off, to cease confusion, I'm not leaving LJ. One of my stories is just going on slight hiatus, is all.
This wasn't an easy decision to make though and although it doesn't have as great an impact as if I were to say I'm leaving fanfiction completely(which i'm not saying), I have made the decision to officially put my story, Behind Ancients Mists on hold until mid-April (spring break). I'll continue to do drabbles and whatnot, but the weight of a full-blown out story is weighing too heavily on me right now with all that's going on with school and finding a job.
I know a few of you may have been following it (and perhaps many of you not), but I do also wish to let you know that it will be picked back up. The next chapter has been in the works, but has been put off for a while. Repeat! This is not the end of the story, just a "break" if you will. lol.
On a completely fun note: I woke up to snow this morning! True, it was all melted except for in the shadows, but still! Yay!
Ba-dum-pa! It's time for useless fun with words everyone! That's right, another addition of Urban Dictionary (with actual words) ... I dunno, it sounded good in my head.
Spoonerism - When the spellings/pronunciation of a sentence move around slightly.
~ for example: "Let us drink to the dear old queen! Let us drink to the queer old dean!"
and "When the boys come back from France, we'll have the hags flung out ["flags hung out"]!" as well as, "Let me sew you to your sheet ["show you to your seat"]."
Gewgaw - Worthless, excessively sparkly or flashy trinket, bauble, or jewelery, often mass-produced from cheap materials.
~for example: "Bidders paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for worthless gewgaws--fake pearls, ashtrays, golf clubs--merely, one supposes, because they were touched by the hand of this celebrity of celebrities."
Polyglot - Knowing or using many languages.
~for example: "He loved to scatter polyglot obscurities like potholes throughout his more than 50 novels and dozens of nonfiction works. He could leap gaily from Welsh to French to Malay to Yiddish in one breath."
Well, that's all for now, everyone. I do hope you all have had a great Valentine's!!
musing,
ud
