Well, the family: Mom, Dad and I, headed over to my mom's parents today for dinner. They only live about ten minutes away and so we felt it would be fun to pick up a pizza for them since they can't get out much anymore. They loved it-- hounded past my mom (because she would adamantly object) to pay my dad for half the cost of the food, in fact. Soon the box emptied out and the pizza disappeared, it was about this time that things started getting a bit weird for me. I mean, I know it 'is' something one has to plan out, but asking your grand-daughter to go down into the next room and bring up the gravestone catalog and pick one out for you does not exactly end the holiday's on the brightest note.
I did point one out-- randomly. I was just too uncomfortable about the whole thing. I'm not scared of death or anything, but it's never something you want to talk about, at least I don't anyways. To make it worse after my grand-father showed me the one he liked he told me to pass it to my dad so he could pick one out for him also-- getting several opinions I guess, but I think my dad felt as shocked and awkward as I did.
*shudder* I'm going to go eat me some ice-cream now.. perhaps annoy my dad with The Sound of Music.. then write some more. Yeah.. that sounds good.
