I got a starred review in Kirkus for
The Merchant of Venice (which comes out May 15th). This is basically the perfect review, as it starts out “Of late, there have been many unsuccessful attempts to adapt Shakespeare into the graphic-novel format; Hinds’s beautiful new offering now sets the standard that all others will strive to meet.” How about that???
In other book-related news, I've made my first graphic novel
Bearskin available as a
free download on Wowio.com. It's ad-sponsored, but in a very non-intrusive way (a single ad at the beginning and at the end). It's an interesting model for publishing in the digital age. Free to the user, but the creator still gets paid. So if you're at all curious, please give it a try. Oh, and if you're like me, you'll wish they had a rating system -- I'm told they're working on that.
