Hard to understand

Don't understand people.
I say I would be going back because I have a great opportunity, one that I am really looking forward to
Only problem: I have to pay NAU tuition for UNM
Yeah it sucks but I have an opportunity back in ABQ
(I repeat myself because those around me over here don't seem to understand that)
"why don't you go to California?"
CAUSE THE ONLY REASON I AM GOING BACK IS FOR THIS ONE OPPORTUNITY!
It just sucks when the person I thought was my best friend seems to only have care for herself.

I have taken a step back
To see if I have changed
And I have
but only to adjust.
It's no fun anymore

I don't like having to defend myself with everything
Either take it or leave it
I never question you on the things that you say because I had no reason to think you were trying to lead me astray.
(not trying to rhyme)
but it's a competition to you now and that's when I stop trying
I'm not here to see who gets more guys
I'm not here to try and be the prettiest
I'm here to learn and feel comfortable

And I no longer feel that way
