Attention all who care about art, photography and freedom of expression!!

The UK government are trying to making photography in public places a
crime, in an attempt to shop paedophiles and reporters. I do not deny that this is a worthy goal, but it is a very bad way to go about it.

If the bill is passed then you will have to apply for a special
licence to take photographs in public, no matter who you are and what
you're taking pictures of, even if you are taking a photo of yourself hugging your mother on a rare visit to see her!

This will mean that landscape and scenery photography in the UK will be almost impossible, as will outdoor photoshoots or simply taking a picture of a friend you're not going to see in a while. Even photographing your car to put it on ebay will be illegal! As will using a camera phone, even if what you are using it for is to take a picture of criminal activity against you or your property! (This has happened to several friends).

This is a ridiculous law, and should not be allowed to go through. It is yet another major restriction of our human rights to individuality, freedom of expression, and simply being people (along with other things).

In order to prevent this bill going through, THIS PETITION http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Photography/ needs at least 750,00 signatures total.

Please help by signing if you do not wish to see it become illegal to take a picture of the sunset, or your holiday at the beach.
