Dreaming by Denny
Beth knew it was a dream.
But if she could just hang onto it. Make it last a few more minutes, another hour, another day, or maybe a lifetime.
Mick was in her bed. He had his arms around her, his naked flesh was touching hers. She hadn’t noticed it before, how cool his skin felt, how strong his body felt, or how much she wanted him.
It had been a fantasy, one she’d had no intentions of pursuing. She loved Josh, not a private detective. Not Mick St. John. But she couldn’t help being who she was. She was a predator in her own right, at least when it came to feeding her curiosity. And that’s all it was in the beginning. A need to know, to document the existence of something unbelievable.
But Mick, god Mick, he was kind, he was funny, beautiful, and heaven help her, he was her guardian angel.
So why in the hell did he have to be a vampire?
Bolting up in the bed, she grabbed her throat and looked around.
Alone. Yes, she was alone. Mick wasn't there.
It was only a dream. Only her curiosity playing tricks on her.
