The ceiling in my master bath started showing water damage, then dripping, then it fell in.
The whole time Im calling management and nobody is calling back. I called their corporate branch and let them know about this. I documented all the calls and took photos. Also when it fell down the stuff got all over my bathroom. First phone call was at 4pm and the guy calls at 9pm saying he 'fixed it' and he never stepped foot on my apt! DH was pissed because if mold grows he was going to flip. They didnt even act like they cared. I mentioned that I wanted my bathroom cleaned and the maint guy laughed. I went the next day to the office and told them there was stuff all over my counters and body sprays and what not and told them my bathroom was clean and beautiful before that happened and I wanted it returned to that condition when they were done. If they did it that was fine or I was hiring a cleaning company to do it and taking it out of the rent. I would not have been so upset if they responded to the call at 4pm and took care of the damage before it fell in and I would have moved my belongings for them to work. But the ceiling fell in, and the main guy pulled more down (so it could dry I guess) and LEFT IT!
We got nothing but attitude from the maint people, they didnt ever call back, and they guy said he 'fixed it' but he never even knocked on the door or called!
So I dont care if this is Mississippi, people at this apt complex are rude and dont give a #@&% about eachother. They act like its my fault, I expect too much. Yesh for the rent we pay I expect someone to fix it! And in California, this would have NEVER happened. If I called saying my ceiling was leaking every mgmt company that I have rented from or friends have rented from have been there ASAP knowing that damage is happening to their property. And the mess is ALWAYS cleaned up. I dont understand why they wouldnt just try a little harder. We will not be renewing out lease or recomending this place to anyone else.
Im so pissed, people act like Im so strange from CA that I want my apt to be nice and its not their 'job' to clean it for me. Hello the apt was clean BEFORE the leak and I want it clean AFTER as well. I dont want them to clean my mess, but the mess that was created because of their delay. When we called it was just a water spot, they should have fixed it before it became a huge problem. Not my fault, so why should I fix it.

Sept 25th Midnight:
So I posted before about how there was a leak and NOBODY seemed to care and the guy upstairs said he was 'cleaning a fishtank' and thats how it happened. Anyways that was a few weeks ago. They kept telling me 'tomorrow' they would be by to fix it. Always 'tomorrow', and nobody would ever show up. They let it dry for a few days and then one day patched the hole. A few days later they plastered it, few days later plastered it again. Guy said he would be here 'tomorrow' on WED of last week to spray it with that popcorn stuff and paint it. So he never showed up.
Guess he knew something I didnt....
CAUSE ITS LEAKING AGAIN
OMG I went to take a bath at 11:15 (insomnia) and I hear drip drip and its the SAME spot! OMG I call maint and left a msg and just called back again at midnight and by now the plaster is peeling off and falling onto my floor. The stuff is all over my fabric shower curtain, and my stuff.
The guy said hed be here in 20 min, they mentioned if it happened 'again' they would start charging the people upstairs. I think they SHOULD. If you have no respect for other people and think your actions have no consequence for you then here is one. They stomp all around and different hrs, we NEVER pound a broom at them or anything. We NEVER play music too loud or fight or anything noisy... Were freakin PERFECT. This they should think a little bit about, how hard is it to not spill water? They dont have KIDS (which I would still be mad about but understand at least)! Seriously...
