On Vox: Bad News Comes in Threes.
I've listed these in order of my awareness of them.
Bad News #1:
Effective immediately, all active duty U.S. Army soldiers are extended three months on their deployments. This effects 100,000 personnel. I am one.
As of right now, I will not be home until November and miss the start of fall semester which I've been looking forward to for, oh, at least four years.
Depressing isn't the right word, but it's the first word that comes to mind.
Bad News #2:
Eight killed in suicide attack on Iraqi parliament inside the Green Zone.
Bad News #3:
The satirist, author, humanist, prisoner of war, survivor and purveyor of the American dream has died at the ripe age of 84. He had a gift of capturing the beauty and ugliness of the world in a way that made me smile.
