this was by far the craziest week
flew up Tuesday afternoon for my BoA interview in Chicago. Justin picked me up from Ohare and we found my trendy, hipster hotel (Hotel Allegro) downtown. walked around and went to dinner at Red Lobster (um, hello, best bread EVER). dining on a company's expense card is def a cool feeling.
Chicago was already SOOO cold! I duno if I'm really up for the winters there, but that's what 5 layers of long underwear is for, right?
Def awesome to see Justin & spend some much needed QT. Got ready in the morning and IRONED for the first time in my life (seriously. justin had to call his dad to ask how to iron the collar cuz it was NOT working). pantyhose and heels later, I was all suited up and met Ed (fellow WashUer) downstairs. we walked several blocks (in heels...it hurt) and grabbed some coffee before the interviews started at 1:00. Interviewed for the next 3 hours with 4 diff people...not horribly painful or anything but def some weird questions. don't ask me about them b/c i'm not talking about it. we'll find out soon enough.
Left w. Ed and this girl Nancy from UofI and walked back to our hotel (several blocks) and then to Ed's hotel (a million blocks) and then to Millenium Park to chill (more blocks) and back down to the BoA area to drop off Ed for his JP Morgan thing (more blocks) and then back to the Allegro to get Nancy's things (more blocks) and then left her and walked back to BoA to meet Ed/Jeannette for dinner. I seriously had shin splints by the end of the night from all the damn walking. Jeannette, Ed, and I got in touch w. our asian roots and went to dinner at chinatown. ahhhhhhhh i didn't realize how much i missed chinese food. it was damn good (plus I hadn't eaten ALL day due to interview nerves). Ed ate like an entire cow, but thats ok.
Left Jeannette and Ed&I went back to our hotels to grab our bags and headed to OHare for our 10pm flight. got back and took ed home and got in around 12. in time to study for 2 midterms!! and clean the shampoo that had spilt in my luggage!! yay! which i didn't. went to bed until like 6 and woke up to study.....totally did HORRIBLE on both FSA and Investments. ugh. so that was from 10-1 back to back. then i had to throw myself in a suit and go interview at 1:30. and then had to run to type up auditing cases that were due Wed. and then work.
saw Jen for dinner last night which was good times as usual and then went to a DSP senior thing at Spencer's which ended up being (surprisingly) really fun! we traded some AWESOME stories (circle of trust...yeah yeah). it was a LITTLE weird that my FSA professor was there drinking hard cider with us...but hey. whatev. he shared some good stories too.
i miss home/my brother/and my magnets. thanksgiving, come soon!!!
