3 months!

So, I haven't posted since Violet was born. The last three months have been full of sleepless nights and changing family dynamics. There were lots of milestones Violet's reached and it's been really fun to be there and watch them happen.

I still don't feel like a 'Mom' which is so strange because I love being one. Watching Violet with Mitch is really cute too. He's so good with her. I love it.

Recently, Violet has started sleeping in her crib. We started about a week ago and I'm trying to get her into a routine. She still cries a lot when she goes in there to sleep. We tried to put her down for a nap right now... but she's been crying for about 20 minutes. I will never understand why babies do what they do. If you're tired... just go to sleep! Why do you have to stay awake crying because you're tired? Hopefully this phase will be passed through quickly... because it breaks my heart to listen to her scream.

It is crazy how fast she's growing though. She pretty much fits into 3 month clothes now! She was so tiny for so long that nothing fit her. I have to reign myself in from buying too many clothes because she won't be able to wear them for that long. I can't help it though... clothes are so fun to buy... whenever Carters has a sale I have to go get my wallet... in fact I bought some clothes today. But, I can justify that because we're going to Utah in Feb. and I need to make sure she has some warm clothes that fit her. Haha.

I can't wait for Utah in Feb. I don't like the drive... at all.. and it's even worse with the baby. I hope it goes more smoothly this time than it did the first time we drove to Utah. It's going to be sad though, because the Monday after we get back from Utah I have to go back to work.

I'm excited to go back to work because I got a promotion. I'm ready to get my hands dirty and be totally awesome at work again. I'm really sad to go back though because the thought of not having Violet all day. It makes me feel really bad that I'm having someone else watch my kid for most of the day. The good news, though, is the people watching her will be the Child Development Center (CDC) on base. Mitch's flight is the one that inspects them, so he knows how well they are with the children. A lot of moms that are in the Air Force have to go back to work 6 weeks after they have their baby and have to put them in the CDC. I was very very lucky to be able to take off 6 additional weeks. Hurray for FMLA and extra bonding time.

Violet will be about 5 months when she starts going to the CDC. Mitch will take her and pick her up, since he'll already be on base for work. I'll be working 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. with the weekends off. I can't wait to finally have weekends off!!! First time since I started at Starwood in May of 2010.

When we go back to Utah, we'll get to go to The Space CENTER!! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it. I'm going to wear my Star Trek TOS t-shirt dress and I actually got so excited about wearing the dress that I went online and bought some cute boots to go with it. I've been wanting boots for a long time. Lol. Perfect excuse. Just need some black pantyhose and I'll be good to go!

It's the best when you go with people that are into it too, so I'm glad my crew is gonna be awesome. I love being the Captain. :D Our ship is going to be a science vessel since my dress is the blue uniform and not the gold. Lol.

I guess that's all for now. Violet still won't calm down. Silly babies.
