Takarazuka: Winds of Buenos Aires/ブエノスアイレスの風

Apr 18, 2009 11:42

Excuse me, just an insane Takarazuka squeeing session ahead...

THE WINDS OF BUENOS AIRES.  I totally never gave this play a second look, because it had no one I was interested in a year ago.  Silly me.

With Chie and Nene the new stars of Hoshigumi, I was curious enough to watch
this clip when it came up in a search.  Now I MUST HAVE THIS PLAY.

How did I miss this?  How did I not realize how good Chie is?  And though Nene didn't get much time in the clip, I liked what I saw and am now very hopeful for her as top.

And it's got all sorts of interesting musumeyaku parts--all played by actual musumeyaku!  And lovely Yuzurun as a cop!  And it's written by Masatsuka-sensei, who has admittedly been responsible for some turkeys, but has also written some of the best original plays Zuka ever produced (Romance de Paris, Boxman).  And tangos!  And, most important of all for me, an interesting story!

Or so it seems.  Did anyone see this one?  Is it as good as it looks from that clip?

For those who have no idea what I'm talking about: www.takarazuka-revue.info/tiki-index.php/tiki-index.php?page=The+Wind+of+Buenos+Aires+(Star+2008)
For some reason, LJ refuses to link to the actual link, which I'm sure is me showing what a novice I am again, but anyway.  That's a summary of the story.

takarazuka, kurenai yuzuru, yumesaki nene, yuzuki reon
