Suddenly, Seymour...is my benefactor

I may have just won $11,227.03.

I have been awarded an academic award from Tufts called The Charles F. Seymour, Jr., Prize, which is " to be awarded annually with preference for a junior or senior participant in musical theatre who has an interest in business studies or a career in business." I had gotten an email from the Econ department saying I might be eligible for nomination for certain awards so I wrote a shpiel to them about my extracurricular activities. I mostly talked about my work as an Research Asst. in the Econ department (since that's who sent the email) and volunteering with kids and then at the end I tacked 3 sentences about how I've played in the musical pits for 3 shows and acted in 2 others.

Today, my parents got a letter in the mail inviting them to the awards ceremony. And I look back to see which prize I had been awarded. On the sheet (dated 2005) it says the above statement, and then Amount: 11,227.03 and Winners: 2. It is possible that the amount changes year to year, or that the number of recipients changes year to year, it is possible that me and other recipient(s) will have to split that or a different amount, but it is also entirely possible that I WON OVER $11,000 FOR BEING ME.
