My interview to go to Japan for a year is scheduled for Friday. I still can't believe I was the only person who applied to Hiroshima Jogakuin University. I feel I'm getting to the point where it's safe to say I'm going.
Now that it's starting to sink in, I'm realizing how shitty my Japanese is. How the HELL am I going to survive over there? In class? Unlike the other two universities I could have applied to, Hiroshima Jogakuin University doesn't have a Japanese program for exchange students. I'll be thrown into regular classes with the rest of the Japanese students. I can barely comprehend what my teachers say in Japanese class. I am horrified of getting bad grades and wrecking my GPA. Hopefully I can take easy classes like cooking or the like.
I hope my month in Japan this summer will help me out, too, and I'll get a better grasp of the language. My listening skills desperately need improvement.
I am so happy and excited! I can't wait to get better at Japanese!
