At this time two years ago...

At this time two years ago, I was kneeling over the toilet in a Chicago bathroom, puking my guts out after one of the best concerts of my life.  That's right, losers, D'espairsRay World Tour 2010 Human-clad Monsters.

It was a glorious day, indeed.  I remember waking up, nervous and excited as hell, unable to eat a thing.  Walked to the venue, already had blisters on my feet, didn't give a crap.  Waiting with line with friends for over nine hours, a train line interrupting our conversations every twenty minutes.  Hot sun.  D'espairsRay causing a traffic jam.  Waiving at Karyu, him waving back.  Venturing to the bathroom three blocks away with yuunao and shoucake's brother.  Doors opening, whispers of "I can't believe we're about to see D'espairsRay right now."  Making Taguchi smile during sound check.  D'espairsRay, on stage, Karyu looming over me, reptile eyes, launched right into「DEATH POINT」.  Slow headbanging to「dope」, rocked to my very core during「PROGRESS」.  HIZUMI talking about basketball (I'm still not entirely sure of what he said.)  MISSING KARYU HUMPING HIS AMP DURING「浮遊した理想」.  I will forever hate myself for missing such a moment!  Karyu's sweat dropping onto my hand, not sure whether to rub it on my face or lick it (don't worry, folks, I rubbed it on my face--Karyu's sweat is forever part of my face.)  After the show, setting up for signings.  I'm looking around for fallen guitar picks.  I see one on the ground, lunge for it.  Miss.  Lunge again.  Got it.  Signing, I high five the band.  Karyu's high five hurt.  He signs my third pick I have from him.  Drops his sharpie in the attempt.   Tears of joy afterward.  Happy but not yet fulfilled.  Excited for the show in Toronto.

It was a night to forever remember.  I feel so teary and nostalgic right now.  I love these guys.  I hope I get the chance to see them live again someday.  I don't care if it's in forty years.  I'll go when I'm sixty.  I love them so much.

As a side note, thinking back, I think I puked from sun exposure, heat exposure, fatigue, no food, and a riot of emotions. XD  I was sick for two days, including the day of the Toronto show, which I still went to.  I vaguely recall thinking I caught something in Chicago and being afraid of getting the band sick.  Damn, I'm such a sweet fan. XD

I leave you with this, my dears:

My live report of the show is here.  There's lots of band goofiness.  I say it's definitely worth a read.
