My Mom got a phone call from my younger brother who's been visiting my Great-Grandmother in Mexico since June. My mom gave him permission to stay there to stay until August 7th. Just three more months until my mom and I get our chance to go there too. I do miss a bit though. With him gone, I'm pretty much by myself most of the day, even days when my older brother isn't working because he spends most of his time with his girlfriend, Sierra now :/
The family did manage to coax him to bring her along with us to San Francisco's Pier 39 yesterday but they pretty much went off on their own as soon as we arrived. Didn't matter though, my Mom, Dad and I had a pretty nice time. First we got some popcorn shrimp along with some clam chowder for my daddy before we went to this museum that houses several coin operated machines, a lot of them from the early 1900's!
There was this giant doll with a gap tooth in a glass box that starts laughing all weird when you insert 50 cents in the slot. Apparently it was built to greet people but it more often creeped them out. I could see why. I found it a bit irritating that my mom kept hurrying me along most of the time and I aah! I was too short to use the penny arcade machines D:<
But I got to play some pinball, get fortune read and use one of the love testers. I scored "hot stuff" on it! :D
Afterwards we went of the docks that serves as a resting place for sea lions. The last time we visited, they're weren't any sea lions around but this time there were several just lounging around in the sun. At one point a ferry boat passed by which freaked out a whole bunch of them, causing them in the ocean. When they all resurfaced they all started barking like mad. We went to another area to watch the boats pass by Alcatraz. We even saw a trio of sea lions jump around in the water!
We then did some shopping. We stopped by a music box store where my mom bought a little musical Noah's ark, complete with animals and a musical snowglobe of a carosel horse. And I bought a bag full of taffy and a few other candies :9 I wanted to buy some chocolate too but the store selling it was completely crowded and my Mom had to fish me out of there.
My brother and Sierra eventually met up with us and we had dinner at this nice sea food restraunt. The shrimp scampi I had was delicious and the waiter was very cheerful. I was too full for any desert though. Pity, I was hoping to get a churro at a stand we passed by earlier in the day.
We didn't get to stay for the firework show since we didn't want to leave Puma home alone anymore than necessary but I had a good time.
Speaking of Puma, we took him to Petco to get this month's shots along with his name tag (the engraving machine was broken the last time today. He took it a lot better than last month. He just automatcally started licking one of the shot givers in the face during the entire time and hasn't gotten aggressive at us or shown any negative reactions to the shots. We also bought him a pound of different types of dog treats that were being sold for $4.00 a pound which he's so far enjoyed. :)
And now for a meme!
