serious update
after not posting in this little journal for about a month, i felt it was time for me to return. the past five weeks have been crazy. i was home from school for a week, then my parents left to go on vacation with my brother for two weeks, leaving me home alone to "take care of things." so that meant hot tub parties, jello shot parties, underwear parties, etc. anne-gaelle came to visit (from france) and stayed at my house for a week, and paul from school came to visit at the same time. abbie, anne, anne-gaelle and i went to new york city for a week. we saw so much wonderful modern art at the guggenheim and the newly reopened museum of modern art. i also got to see george, matt, ryan, matt f., and tj which made my visit even more enjoyable. we went to tops, our favorite new jersey diner. we dropped anne-gaelle off at the airport (i drove by macys and the empire state building).
the next day (saturday, august 30), i bid goodbye to anne and abbie, then i drove down to washington, d.c. for a student environmental conference for a week. 30 kids from across the country were there including paul and robb who is the secretary for our ecology club. it was an amazing conference, and i can't wait to apply what i learned to my campus and the larger community over the next year. i got to spend thursday night at paul's and go out for a tasty dinner with him and his mom. friday i left around 12:30pm and i drove to my friend rachel's house in toldedo. she wasn't home when i got there so i went out to dinner with her parents (lol). rachel, her older brother phil, and i went out to waffle house for a snack around midnight, then rachel and i stayed up talking for hours. we didn't get to hang out much at school next year, and i definitely missed her. i got home yesterday night. it was a wild month, and i loved it, but it's good to be back.
abbie's tonight for a movie and hopefully to see klummy!
