So wow ... the Hanson concert yesterday was completely amazing. It's so weird, that twenty-four hours ago I was in Tulsa, Okla. seeing this band I've adored since I was thirteen, and now I'm back in Dallas, fixing to eat a snack and then go to bed since I have to start doing the bagel thing again tomorrow morning at seven a.m. Well, anyway. Clearly I have photographs for your viewing pleasure. You know how it goes ...
We left Muskogee for Tulsa at about noon. The drive shouldn’t have taken as long as it did, but there was hella bad traffic while we were trying to get out of Muskogee. Damn you, small town Oklahoma! hehe. Anyway we drove for just about forever through a seemingly never-ending landscape of Oklahoma nothingness until we finally got to Broken Arrow, Okla., because I desperately needed gas. And we definitely needed lunch too, so we stopped at Popeye’s to get some spicy chicken, which is the official lunch of Hanson concert days. You heard it here first. Look at how cute Amanda and I are in the bathroom! Hehe.
Look at that hotness! That sign says “ooh wee!” Hot. And look, there’s my car in the corner of the photograph.
Some photos from the highway just outside of (and downtown) Tulsa. So exciting!!
That's Cain's Ballroom. It's right next to the highway and was extremely easy to find, even though there isn't a Main St. exit. I took a photo from the parking lot (2). We were walking to the back of the line and couldn't believe how many people were already in line (3). And there's downtown Tulsa, down Main St. (4)
Who else looks this hot while waiting in line? There's me, with our Hanson tickets I had just gotten from the box office. That's my favourite picture ever, seriously. The wind and my hair get along so well together, lol. =))) Now you can see kinda what colour it is now. Not totally blonde .. but as blonde as I've ever been. And Amanda is always gorgeous .. we all knew this!!
The people behind us in line were the shit. Actually, that goes for the girls who were in front of us, too, but we didn't start talking to them until later. But there was this awesome woman behind us in line (4) and she was there with her daughters (16, 13, and 10). That's her ten-year-old daughter, Audrey, who was partially deaf and sooo cute. That yellow Hanson tee she's wearing is homemade. Precious. We talked with her mom for hours. She held our place in line while we walked down Main St. to get water and juice. Good times. Some Hanson fans are so cool.
Here's some shots of the crowd, so you can see what this was like. Because if you're not a hardcore Hanson fan, you honestly have no clue about anything. Jesus, I mean, Amanda and I waited in line for six hours, and we were behind one hundred people - a hundred girls (and a few boys!) who got there before one-thirty on Wednesday. The line in front of us (2-3), and the line behind us (4-5).
Can't help the art kid from coming out in me when the sun starts setting. God dammit, I heart Tulsa.
Amanda, being cute and waiting her turn to get in and see Hanson. (How cool is that black and white one? Hehe. It was a total accident. I don't presume to know how my mom's camera works.)
Cain's Ballroom, as it was starting to get dark in Tulsa. We'd been waiting about four hours.
Then it did get dark. Made for some fun photo opportunities; you know how my mind works .. weirdass photominded crazy/creative me. Audrey is the second little girl; a bunch of her friends showed up and they had a cute sign that said We <3 Hanson. (Can you believe that Hanson are ALL in their twenties now and still have fans who haven't hit puberty??) And LOOK. Amanda and I got a photo with Pat McGee!
I didn't get any photos of the first opening band, The Hero Factor, who are from Tulsa and were chosen in Hanson's opening band contest (I think they're actually the ones I randomly voted for!!) Good thing, too. They were kickass. Also ... The Pat McGee Band are awesome too. Has anyone actually heard of them before? Cuz I haven't but I totally love them now! Extremely entertaining!
Haha .. the little boy who's always following Jessica Hanson* around played percussion for The Pat McGee Band on one song. =))) Extremely entertaining. And of course, when I say little, I don't mean it. He's got to be at least sixteen. Anyway, his name is Joe and he and Jessica sell merchandise together. Maybe they're going out, how fun would that be? =))) Yayish.
* Jessica is Isaac, Taylor, and Zac's oldest sister. She's seventeen and tours with them, selling merchandise and carrying ridiculously heavy boxes, because apparently her older brothers aren't worth a damn when it comes to moving their own shit around. But they're hot, so I forgive them. A little.
OH GOD. And then there was HANSON. I'll be honest, I wish I'd been able to take more photos of them, but the cameras were both dying, it was so crowded, and it just ultimately turned out to be so much more rewarding to say "fuck it" to the whole taking photos thing. Because you know why? I got a few decent photographs of Isaac, and that is ALL that matters. Look how pretty he is!!!! Goddddd. Also, Zac playing the piano. Hell yes. (And also yes, I am aware that 1 isn't flipped the way it should be, but at this point I'm running late for getting to bed since I have to work at seven tomorrow morning and I'm hella tired, I really wanted to go ahead and post these, so here they are and I'll fucking fix it later!!!!!! hehe)
There's a lot more to tell, like stuff I didn't get photographs of, but it will simply have to wait until tomorrow. Uhh. Tomorrow, when I go back to all that Einstein's madness again. Garrr. *sigh* I seriously need to talk to Courtney.
