So far, I like 22

A fabulous present from Shani (sent via her mom, since Shani is in Italy) kicked off the birthday maddness on Thursday. Got a great call and Feliz Cumpleanos call from Steph, Rachael and Shane on Friday night. Good times.

Saturday I got a call from Shani in Italy and calls from lots of family members. I spent a totally fun day with Nicole, including BDs Mongolian (of which she is not quite a fan) and North Market, a walk in Goodale park and a Moritz Law hoodie!! Yay! Oh, and a little bit of preparing for the
BEST VEST PARTY.

No one got to the party for the first half hour, thanks to the lovely Gallery Hop parking situation. The first to make it were Amy and Spencer, all the way from Indiana! (Ok, they were in town anyway. But it was still totally cool to see them.).

Bryan and Michael - in their own interpretation of the "vest" theme came in ... complete drag. I honesty didn't recognize them when I saw them parked across the  across the street. It was even more exciting when they somehow ended up having a full out sockem-bopper fight. In heals.

There were so many fabulous vests at the party, that the deliberations comittee declared -- in the words of Daniel Vosovic --- "a mothafuckin walkoff." Each participant got to strut their stuff and defend their vest. The fabulous prizes were valued at up to $1000 dollars! (Ok, they were scratch-off lottery tickets). The committee ultimately decided -- based on vest quality and modeling skilz on these fine folks:

After the vest contest, we did the traditional birthday party stuff, including cake and ice cream ....

Photo ops ....

and whatever this is ...

More pictures to come. These were all stolen from Amy's facebook. I've already seen Nicole's too, which include her crochet vest and some great shots of the walkoff.

EDIT: Bryan already blogged a few more of the drag pics here: http://www.rbryansears.blogspot.com/

Yesterday Nicole and I went on lots of walks, and bought a grill ... and then decided it would be too big of a pain in the ass to put it together and clean it and bring it inside, just to move it on Saturday. So we did veggie burgers in the toaster oven. Gooood times.
