My fear of moose is seriously up there with other peoples' fear of heights, snakes, small spaces and what have you. They're big and scary. EEK!
Moose chases B.C. boy
CBC News An 11-year-old boy was unhurt after being charged by a moose Wednesday while en route to school on the outskirts of the northern B.C. city of Prince George.
Conservation officer Gary Van Spengen said the youngster was on his way to catch the school bus in the Blackburn area when the moose spotted him and charged after him.
"The moose had stomped the ground a couple of times and started to chase him down the road," he said.
As the youngster got back to his house, the school bus arrived and picked him up in his driveway.
Van Spengen said the moose then chased the school bus for a distance.
He warned that people going outdoors in the Prince George area should keep an eye out for roaming moose, as there are lots of them around at this time of year.
"Everybody should be wary when they're walking their dogs and out in any of the green belts and parts of Prince George, and just be aware of their surroundings. And if they do see a moose to leave the area immediately."
