OK, so I'm currently reviewing my Bio book for lecture tomorrow.
I saw this and I giggled almost as much as I did when I saw the Sesame Street Wrongness in my Psych book last semester:
So the chapter opens, talking about how certain organisms reproduce asexually. Then, because the whole chapter is supposed to be about meiosis, it obviously had to move on quickly, with the passing on of genes, chromosomes, etc.
The eyes then fall on this line:
"Inheritance gets far more interesting with sexual reproduction."
That's exactly how it appears in the book.
And here I am thinking, "Well, one would imagine that reproduction gets a lot more interesting when it's done that way...for one thing, clones are scary, man, and for another, well...."
It's getting too late. I'm laughing at reproduction. Wow, way to be mature at 18.
Cell reproduction, at that. Dude, next I'll be giggling like an idiot going "OMG CELL SEX AAAAHHH!!!"
Later:
OMFG VIGGO MORTENSEN IS IN BIOLOGY BOOK!!! THERE IS A GOD!!!!
(Note to self: refer to page 149, fig. 9.13)
