I have a paper to write, but there's no way I'm together enough to write it right now...I'm getting tired. :-P
Anyways, today was...interesting. I woke up 45 minutes before I had to leave the house, fnarr...for an Interact Club activity, Bread and Roses. So, for 2 hours, Laura, Kelly and I were in a huge, noisy gymnasium wrapping gifts for the less fortunate. I was fun (I brought my own supplies, I learned from last year!), but the really difficult part about it was that since I was 10 min. late (won't go into why...fnarr again) and in the second shift, there weren't any nice, BOXED toys to wrap any more...oh no. We had to figure out a way to wrap FOOTBALLS. Have you ever tries to wrap a ball of any kind? 'Tis not an easy task! Finally, we go into the other room to get a sandwich or something as reward for our labors, and just as we were finishing, who walks in to get something to eat for himself? Santa Claus and this woman who was behind the counter on the main floor in charge or something, who was dressed in this skimpy-ish "Mrs. Claus" outfit, trimmed with faux fur. Laura and I couldn't help ourselves at that one, and jokes ensued so much that we had to step outside. (i.e. "Hey, Kelly, look! It's Santa Claus and his HO HO HO!!!)
And OMG this is completely out of context but my Mom just called me on the way back from her catering job to tell me that she just met a celebrity and I AM JEALOUS even though I don't really know who it is (he plays Billy on "Guiding Light"), but she got to talk to him and she looked at him and he smiled and I can just imagine her freaking out (and then she makes fun of me...) I'll have to post my account of seeing Sean Astin in Boston in October in here soon, just for zee hell of it.
ANYWAY. Shopping at the mall for a birthday gift for Emma ensued after Bread and Roses. Finished up Christmas shopping for my family ^_^. Now all that's left is my secret Santa gift and maybe something for my godson. Saw SO MANY PEOPLE...Alex H. (who I swear we have parallel minds, we somehow ended up in 3-4 stores together), Meredith, Joey, John, Eric S. (KARA'S EX!!! DUNDUNDUN), Linsday from swim team, techie Laura, Nicole B., Diana (my sister's friend). After a while Kelly started to inquire as to whether or not I knew the whole mall, lol.
Then, onto the movie theater for Emma's Party...saw Ocean's 12 without ever seeing Ocean's 11 and still loved it, Matt Damon was so cute as the young, naive one, lol. After that, went straight to Bennigan's for dinner, where she opened gifts (Kelly, amid other things, insisted on giving her "Jesus in a Box". DON'T ask.) and then later all the wait staff assembled (because, unbeknownst to 4 of the 6 of us, Kelly and Stephanie slipped our waitress a note saying that it was her birthday) to sing the Bennigan's Happy Birthday song to her while she stood in her seat turning red as the whole restaurant applauded, lol.
SO, we eat the free dessert, ^_^, then, shock of shocks, this cute-ish-i-guess boy (probably a year or two older than us) comes over to our table and is like "Are you using your ketchup?" and of course we let him have it and Diana (different one from before, lol) was like "We have another one over here, too!" and the dork was like "Score! That's great." and takes it and goes back to his table where I have perfect view of him, btw.
A little while later, this girl that was sitting at his table comes over to us and hands us a folded up napkin and says "This is for the birthday girl from my friend." Of course, we all crowd around to see what it says: "Happy Birthday. Thanks for the ketchup. Call me ---Austin." with a number at the bottom of the page. WELL. After much speculation (and laughter), we decided that since he went through all the trouble to come over for the ketchup (and the fact that he was, indeed a loser), we might give the number a call and see if it was legit, even though we all knew it wasn't. Especially when we got this girl's voicemail on the other end.
So, we decided to get back at said loser by sending him a note on the back of his previous one. We considered writing "Sorry, you're too young for me," as Emma has an obsession with men old enough to be her FATHER, lol, but settled on "Maybe next time. Thanks anyway." :-D!!! It was so fun. We had to walk past that table in order to get out, so Diana, note in hand, leans over their table and says, just like the girl did, "This is for you from my friend," and as we're leaving, we see said loser double over into his MALE friend's lap (read: crotch) he was laughing so hard.
A good night, all in all, except for when we were waiting for Laura's mom to come and the group containing said loser comes out of the restaurant and they're all "Goodnight ladies" and we say goodnight back, but the minute they were out of sight, Emma said all loud "ASSHOLES". EMMA!!! 'Tis rude! ;)
And, thazzit. :-D
