I assume you're not really counting the Beast here?

I was always partial to Eric; he's the first to have a really distinct personality, and was still the only one in my earliest and most fanatical Disney days, when I was three or four. (I can't quite count the Beast either. He's not a prince when we see him, and we don't really see him as the Prince.)

But Max sealed the deal. Our dog was named Max too, and I made a connection between them in my mind. I couldn't help but think of Eric's Max as my Max, even if mine was a Lab/Shepherd mix and nothing like an Old English Sheepdog. (But my favorite is that one part with Scuttle. "I dunno, he looks kinda slobbery and hairy to me...")

Samson is amazing! "No carrots!"

It's so easy to forget that the Beast is actually a prince, too! But in terms of personality, while the Beast has one, I prefer Philip and Eric's playful nature. And there's something about those boys and their pets (for lack of a better word) that I just can't resist. I love that in real life, too - and if a guy I'm interested in is great with kids on top of it, he earns major points. I wonder why. ;) haha!

Awww, that's such a cute story! It's so fun to have a connection like that. :) And Scuttle wins for almost everything that comes out of his mouth, including when he starts squawking in the middle of "Kiss the Girl". XD ("This dates back to pre-hysterical times when humans used to just sit around and stare at each other all day. It got very boring.")

Ah, that's true. Although the beast does technically have a dog. It's just that the dog is currently an ottoman. (Come to think of it, it seems really weird that the animals would be enchanted too.)

Now that I'm on the Disney Prince vein, Philip is really unusual too in that we see him as a child at the beginning. I love that disgusted face he makes at Aurora's christening.

Another thing I like about Eric is that they made him much more honorable and sympathetic than the prince of the original fairy tale, who was rather obviously never that into the Little Mermaid at all. (He's nice to her, but doesn't seem capable of seeing her as a romantic interest, and never has a clue that she's the one who saved him.) Whereas Eric makes the connection immediately, even if he gets confused when he realizes she can't speak-- and then despite that, is clearly ready to fall in love with her anyway until Ursula "takes things into her own tentacles" and magics his free will away.

OMG you're right....and that's freaking hilarious!! XD

I totally agree with the Philip and Eric comments. See, this is why you're a writer - you can analyze things and write them down in a cohesive manner that makes sense. Me, I don't know where my head's at this week. :-P lol
