Report Cards are...reported. Yeah.
2 hour staff meeting, and I Are Tired.
I still haven't planned Math for tomorrow. I really want to tell myself that I can't be bothered, but obviously I am. It won't take much, it's just a follow-up last lesson to the unit that's ending on fractions (word problems, JOY!), but I still need to own it, or at least know what I'm doing! (I find that helps kids retain the lesson, go figure. :-P)
Also, I love how NOBODY in this house gives a shit when I'm playing or listening to music, and just turn on the TV. Not even the news, the History Channel! I just... *facepalm* OK.
I'm sorry that this post is dripping sarcasm. How about a couple little bits of humor that had us all laughing ridiculously hard this afternoon during Professional Development?
First, sometimes when our principal writes fast, he leaves out letters. So do we all. In this particular case, a "Nurturing Environment" became a "Nuturing Environment", or a "Neutering Environment", as we all read it! LOL How's that for a system of classroom management? XD
And second...
As an ice breaker/game/activity thing, he also wanted us to bring along a favorite quote or song lyric to discuss. Several people had some fun and inspiring quotes, but one 5th grade teacher took the cake. Her story?
"I learned this from my grandmother, who was born in 1901. She was always reciting things, and I was reciting this since before I understood what it meant!
In days of old
When knights were bold
And terlets weren't yet invented
You did your load
In the middle of the road
And walked away contented!"
DID I MENTION HOW I LOVE MY COLLEAGUES?? XD Seriously, I work in the best place ever!!! haha!
