WHY AM I AWAKE???
Ugghhh, seriously exhausted, went to Taste of Italy tonight...wish it was Friday night....
Anyway, just poking my head in to say that I've been uber-busy and will be fairly busy for a while as I try to figure out November. Namely, the first week.
Have another student moving away, and one that just arrived yesterday.
They plunked the little darling into my room at 9:30 am with no warning. She just got here from Ecuador like last week and speaks no English whatsoever. What, pray tell, was I supposed to do with her during Writer's and Reader's workshop on no notice??
Thank God so many kids in my class speak Spanish. I understand them, mostly, too. And actually, it's really cute hearing them speak Spanish to each other in those little voices. I think she's developing a crush on one of the boys, lol!
Every teeny bit of Spanish I ever learned, I've used in the past 48 hours. Then today, I had English and Spanish at school all day, then went and spoke Italian in the evening, and now my brain is tired.
Speaking of which, I read Strega Nona to them for the first time today, and they loved it. It helps that Miss Batt does a kick-ass Strega Nona voice. ;)
It's midnight, no lesson planning happened tonight and no papers will be graded. Miss Batt needs her beauty sanity sleep.
