7 weeks post partum....
I delivered 7 weeks ago yesterday and finally got in for my post partum check up this morning. All is well. I was 4 lbs. above pre-pregnancy weight (full clothed, LOL), uterus is right back to where it should be, blah blah blah.
Mastitis has cleared up (came down with that AND a UTI last Friday) but he warned me that the antibiotic they gave me for the UTI may not completely knock it out so now that I'm done with that I need to just keep a close eye out for a relapse. Lovely.
Did the pap and breast exam so I'm good to go for a year.
He was thrilled for me that I got my VBAC and said he was so happy that his practice was the one to full fill that dream for me. So sweet. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this OB.
He asked about birth control (DH has been snipped) and then went on to tell me to wait a year before doing it again. Uh...doing it again? I don't think so, LOL, but it's good to know that he sees no physical reason why I shouldn't get pregnant again.
So there we have it. Going to see my general practictioner next week to make sure everything else is in working order and I'm good to go. Looking forward to doing some exercise to get rid of the last few pounds and then some!
Baby is doing really well and big sister seems to have adjusted well. Grandma came over from Australia for 3 weeks and was in heaven. She headed back today but not before she gave me a call this morning to say hello, to thank me for all that I have done for their entire family, and she kept on saying that I have no idea how happy I have made her son and his wife. She went on and on about how they do not take their eyes of the "littlies" and they are completely smitten and so in love. I felt a little weird listening to her sing my praises and wasn't sure what to say, but managed to blurt out something about being happy for them and glad to hear she had such a wonderful time during her trip.
I hope to get out to see them all shortly after the holiday hoopla is over but in the meantime, Grandma promised me she'd send me copies of the pictures she took of the 2 girls together. Looking forward to that for sure! :)
