Lemon is up before he is. She's even fully dressed and ready for the day before he is.

Those things are surprising, but a couple of other facts -- he finds her in the kitchen; she appreciates that he's wearing boxers and yesterday's dress shirt instead of walking around her apartment in the nude -- are predictable. He supposes one thing Lemon is not surprised by is that he kisses her as soon as they're close enough. Another, that he guides her backwards to the kitchen table, then lifts her onto it. He stands between her parted thighs, kisses her again as her fingers slide through his hair and her ankles cross in back of him, and then the feel of her jeans against his legs is filed into the 'surprise' category.

He pulls back. "Lemon, may I ask why your pants are warm?"

"Well... I just put them on," she replies.

Before he can seek clarification, she puts her hand on the back of his neck to guide his mouth back to hers. Her other hand slides between their bodies, and even if she's not making an attempt to distract him, she can't be surprised that she has.

Later, she pulls away from him to throw her jeans in the oven. A clarification, and not much of a surprise -- she once told him she uses her oven for one thing, but he assumed she meant storing pots and pans she doesn't use -- and he makes no comment on it. After all, by this time they're both naked; there are more important things to deal with than her misuse of an appliance and love of warm denim.

Much more important things.
