For the past three nights, Ann's been having dreams about being Leslie's First Lady and getting higher ratings than her in the public opinion polls. There's a lot of other stuff going on, including an appearance by one of those guys from Daisy of Love. (No, she's not proud of herself for spending time with VH1's Sunday night line-up. Leslie is paranoid that someone will find out she's watched it with Ann and this will ruin her chances of being elected mayor.) The polls eventually destroy their marriage.
Ann looks around for cameras before she tells this to Rosalie, one of the other nurses on her shift, then finds herself wishing the documentary crew would finish amassing footage sooner rather than later. She doesn't feel comfortable with her surprise at not being filmed.
"And I don't even think she could become president," Ann says. "Is that terrible, not having faith in my girlfriend?"
Rosalie stares blankly at her. Ann thinks that, if this were being filmed, her co-worker would be making a face at the camera that had quickly turned to focus on her.
She has worse problems than her dreams.
"Never mind," Ann says. "It's silly."
"It really is."
She nods slowly. "Thanks for your help." She might look to her side to give a reaction shot.

The High Priestess

"What do you think they mean?"
Leslie nods slowly; seriously. "They might be a premonition. Premonitions? Yeah, that should have been plural. You may be psychic."
They're not in front of the cameras, and Ann doesn't look for any. It's strange, that she always feels most at ease while with the woman who brought the cameras into her life.
"You think we're going to break up because of public opinion polls?" She doesn't say, You think you're going to be President? because she likes not being one of the people who forces Leslie into false cheerfulness.
"Maybe only part of it is going to come true."
"I'm not psychic," Ann insists. "None of my dreams have ever come true."
Another slow, serious nod. "Yet, Ann. Yet."
"Okay."
She's dating a crazy person.
But at least Leslie is a crazy person Ann really, really likes.
