After three days in Jack's apartment -- he's right; there's no such thing as too much sex, or at least the breaking point is, she doesn't know, six days -- Liz leaves. That night, she's back at his house. Over the next couple weeks, she basically moves into Jack's without him asking or her accepting. She figures this would be a good time to offer Jenna more than vagaries about her relationship. ('I'm seeing someone,' often said in response to offers of blind dates or club hopping man-hunts, which might have made it seem like 'someone' didn't exist.) But Jenna can't tell anyone at work during a hiatus, right? She doesn't have any of the writers' numbers. Though for all Liz knows, Jenna could have everyone on her cellphone, with Sue saved under 'Girl Writer.'
She'll take that risk. Maybe it'd be best if they found out now. By September, nobody would consider this news to be news.
Anyway.
"The someone is Jack. The someone I'm seeing, I mean."
"I knew it," Jenna says.
"You didn't."
"It's not so difficult for someone with my intuition to pick up on the clues that you're into each other. Also, I saw you making out in the writers' room."
They've only done that once, after everyone had gone home. "Why were you around at one in the morning?"
She pauses. "No reason."
"I can't believe you didn't say anything."
"I wanted to respect your privacy."
"You didn't want me to ask you why you were there at one in the morning."
"I did nothing illegal," Jenna says quickly. "So, the sex--"
"It's incredible."
"Details."
"I was hoping that if I answered quickly, you wouldn't ask for details."
"Fine, I can use my imagination to fill in the blanks." Off Liz's uncomfortable look: "If it makes you feel better, I'm not going to imagine you."
Her smile is strained. "Great."
