Liz Lemon is not gay. Tina Fey? Also not gay. (That rhymes. How delightful.) Tina Fey, in addition to not being gay, is not exactly straight. And when it comes to women, she has a thing for blondes. So. She really should've insisted they find a brunette/redhead/whatever to play Gretchen. A brunette/redhead/whatever who's a zero on the Kinsey scale, so there would be no stolen glances, no flirting, no sexual tension at all.

But you can't really ask someone if they're at all gay during an audition. Maybe this is a flaw in the system, or maybe Tina Fey should just not write/pitch/accept pitches for anything vaguely gay.

Well, one thing is for sure. She really has to stop thinking about herself in the third person, using the most common of her names. It's kind of weird. But. At least her inner monologue isn't using her full given name and saying it in her mother's voice. That would be really horrifying.

Another thing that's set in stone: she is not going out for drinks with Stephanie. Because she can't have an affair, a one-night stand, or anything. She can't be this woman who periodically cheats on her husband when a cute blond flirts with her. (She can't be that woman anymore, that is.)

To her credit, she does refuse Stephanie's invitation. To her debit, she does not pull away when Stephanie kisses her, does not stop Stephanie from sliding her hand between Tina's legs, but does return the favor after Stephanie makes her come.

So. Tina Fey has really failed this time. And she continues to fail by saying yes to Stephanie when she suggests, "Maybe we should grab that drink now?" Further failure: that drink is had in a hotel room, and most of the time, Tina's mouth is not on a glass. And she's already finding herself obsessed with Stephanie's skin, with the soft curves of Stephanie's breasts.

Yes. Tina Fey has really done the opposite of succeeding.

But at least this is just a guest spot. Maybe after Stephanie is out of her work life, Tina Fey will stop failing. Or at least stop thinking of herself in full name third person.

That'd be a start.
