JD was hiding from Dr. Cox for a variety of reasons. Well, it was actually for only one reason, but there were so many different ways to term a breakup. Way more than fifty -- Paul Simon had really limited himself with the use of names and rhyming. He hadn't counted, but it had to be at least seventy.
"Yeah." JD nodded. "Seventy to eight-six."
"JD, I'm not going to say I don't care..." Elliot began. "Because I do. Well, not about the list you've created in your head. I have a lot more affection for the lists that I've created in my own head."
"Understood."
JD began to mentally rank his lists in order of his love for them. 'Best Songs from '86,' then 'Greatest Movies that Feature a Midget,' then...
Yeah. Elliot was talking again.
"It's just... we were okay, eventually. Dr. Cox might not be the best person to break up with, but it won't be that bad."
"Actually, the problem is that I don't want him to break up with me."
Elliot nodded. "Avoidance is the way to a long-lasting relationship."
JD slid 'Times Elliot Enabled My Neuroses' into the top five.
"Still," Elliot continued, "my legs feel really cramped with you under the desk, so I think you should just talk to him."
'Times Elliot Thwarted My Plans' rocketed to the top of the list.

It wasn't hard to find Perry, but it was hard to think of something to say that didn't sound pathetic. So, he stood there silently, waiting for Perry to just say whatever it was he wanted to say. But Perry didn't say anything. Just stood there, staring at him, arms crossed.
"Oh," JD finally exploded, "for the love of God just break up with me!"
JD was disturbed by how little reaction this garnered, particularly from Perry. 'Times Dr. Cox Was Inscrutable' fell several notches.
"Um... Okay. What are we doing here?"
"I am waiting for test results. You're yelling about your personal life. Everyone else is retching."
"Not literally," JD muttered. "Look, I just want to get this over with."
"Dear God, Christina, I'm not breaking up with you."
"You slammed the door in my face and said you never wanted to see me again."
"I do that all the time. You thought sex would change things?"
JD shrugged. "Kinda. Okay. Not really. It's just... can't you tell me when you don't mean it?"
"What would be the fun in that?"
Perry smiled, JD relaxed, and 'Times Disaster Was Averted' settled at number one.
