All this recent rain has really brought about some change, most notably this strange color the field has become... what is it? I seem to remember something like it months and months ago... :P

[Now with smaller preview pic to mend icky page-views :P]

Seriously though, it was not that green this morning, wow, what some sunshine will do!

Here's a pic for those of you who don't believe people dry their clothes on a line anymore...

Probably not the most sophisticated accessory for your yard, but hey, you get fresh-smelling dry clothes without using electricity or gas (just a bit of elbow grease)!

With all the rain the ducks have been in absolute heaven -they love it! It brings up all the bugs and worms and they forage all over the place. Actually, they go a little too far for my liking -sometimes to the end of the driveway (for the puddles) and sometimes over to the bramble hedge near Grandma's. They are happy quackers! Here Butters struts his stuff in the front yard...

Look how much the little guy (tentatively called "Biggles") has changed since he started his molt...

Here they make a break for the driveway puddles...

...and then run back to the backyard.

Cissy always has her eye on me, whether fearing an attack or hoping for a treat I'm not sure.

Clearly, LaRoo is the most handsome little bantam EVER. Lookit his shiny feathers!

BWUCK?! XD

In other non-pic news, my first attempt at a knitted garment has failed spectacularly. I swear I followed the pattern exactly, but the shrug turned out wayyyyyy huge and with one arm longer than the other. ARGGG. I may turn part of it into a pillow and frog the rest, unless I think of some other inspired ideas... anyone? *looks hopeful*

[edit]Forgot to add the Mr.Poo pics!

While I snapped the morning pics of the ducks in the front yard, Poo lounged in his favorite box...

Then he got all excited about the camera and jumped onto my cabinet to pose with his huge fuzzy belly. Go on, rub your face in it, you know you want to...

(That's the failed shrug, folded at the top)

Always important to taste your knitting needles for proper flavor... *nom*

Oh, and our heat has been out since yesterday. Joy. But someone's coming to work on it tomorrow, so that's good. Still, it's pretty dang cold in here. Our house does an odd thing in Spring and Fall, it is consistently colder in the house than outside. I'm not sure how that happens, but I'm sure it entertains the neighbors when I have all the doors and windows open. Sure, it's 72 outside, but inside it's 52! :P
