Holy crap - I didn't realize how far into the month we are already. Things are gonna get pretty busy soon at work (as it always does when the month comes to an end). I had a neat conversation with an artist today (a graphic designer). I have such a soft spot for artists who don't believe in their work as much as they should. This designer is really good..although most of his work has been for churches and local businesses. So the goal is to get him some high-end clients. National. I offered to write his bio, so I have a feeling this week I'm going to be doing a lot of work from home.
Tonight - Super Nova! Yes that's right, I have fallen victim to watching this "reality" tv show. It makes for a fun convo at work though, heh. There are 2 performers I really like...Lucas and Delana.
Delana reminds me of a female Leonard Cohen, with her deep sultry vocals..Lucas on the other hand proved to the world that he's got a bit of range to his singing voice.
This weekend - was pretty cool. I got together with an old friend I haven't seen in a long time and we went to see World Trade center - the movie. At first I was torn about whether or not I should see the movie, because it was a "hollywood" film. But I went and I am glad I saw it. I do think however it was a bit too soon to release such a film, because usually films about true tragedies come out at least a few years after the fact. Rwanda, however was an exception. And there may be others, but I decided to see this film because I hadn't heard about the story of the Port Authority Police Officers stuck and later rescued at ground zero. The movie had a happy ending (as most successful hollywood movies), but it was inspiring to watch these people who had so much courage. Again, I do think it may have been too early to release this film, because the threat of terrorism is still alive today, and just because this film had a some-what happy ending (with the rescued men), it doesn't mean that we are way past the tragedy. It does however, remind me that there are some good people left in this world.
** and now time to eat yummy salmon and rice for dinner :D
