So Italy was definitely one of the best experiences of my life. It definitely had some difficult moments but looking back is nothing but fond memories. Venice was fabulous. I got a carnival mask and rode in a gondola ride, which were the two things I wanted to do there. Didn't really do a lot of touristy stuff, just kind of wandered aimlessly.
Florence was a little disappointing. It was dirty and the line to the David was really long so we didn't do that. We did go to the Ponte Vecchio and the Duomo. But Florence was really expensive and we were only there for a day. Maybe if we had more time there it would have been better.
Rome was really disappointing the first night we were there but it got so much better. We went to the Vatican the first night and it was in a really sketchy part of town. We just saw St. Peters Square but it was pretty. The next day was cool though. We saw the Colosseum which was amazing. We also went to the Forum, the Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain.
The next day we went to the Circus Maximus which made me sad because I learned about all the cool stuff thast used to be there and none of it is anymore. But it was cool. We also went to the Spanish Steps but I didn't really get what was so significant about those. And they have really annoying men walking around hoving things in your face so you buy them. We walked arpound for a few hours and finally did some shopping which was fun. I bought some cool stuff which excited me.
But that night we were back in the cabin and Kristen suggested we go to the bar. So we went and there was a band playing, and the lead singer was absolutely gorgeous. It seemed like I just stared at him for the longest time. But this random guy pulled Molly onto the dance floor which cracked me and Kristen up. Then he does it later and this really hot guy in a black sweater pulls Kristen out onto the floor. They ended up doing a train around the bar and when I went to join them one of the guys pulls me in. We ended up dancing with the group of four or five guys for the rest of the night, which was fun. There was another guy who I had noticed in the restaurant the first day we were there and thought was hot, and he was there dancing. He started dancing with Molly and eventually me. We ended up dancing together the rest of the night which was quite enjoyable for reasons I'll keep to myself. But apparently all the guys we were dancing with were friends with the band because they came up later and introduced themselves to us, which was cool. They were really good too, which sucks because I'm not sure if there's any way to get info on them here. But it was the most amazing time and I really miss it.
