This past weekend, I joined a group of Colorado furs in a camping trip in the Rocky Mountains west of Cripple Creek. Despite having caught a cold and also coming down with a minor bout of altitude sickness (I was a bit dizzy, had a headache, and was short of breath), I did have a good time with friends. I even had the pleasure of cooking for them a nice beef and vegetable stew in a cast iron pot right in the camp fire.
Still, the weekend left me very tired. I think I'll wait until next summer, when I've fully acclimated to the altitude, before I go camping again.
