I am so glad it is Friday and I am also glad that it has cooled down a bit. CRAZY windstorm last night. WOW!
So, some not so good news regarding my Pathfinder. It wasn't the PCV system...it is much worse. As in, the motor probably needs rebuilt/replaced. F**K! Hubby is testing the compression today to verify what the dealer said. *sigh* I just can't believe it. I bought that vehicle brand new in 2004. I've taken good care of it. I was pretty upset about it yesterday but have come to accept it now. What are ya gonna do...right? Funny thing is (well, not really funny more irritating really) I am actually getting a small bonus because of my safety award and the $27,000 check I got for it (well, it was made out to the company but I did all the work). So, I guess we will have some money to do something. Forget getting ahead again or going back to school though. Hubby had made a comment when all 3 vehicles had issues at the same time..."are you getting a bonus or something because everything is going to the crapper". LOL! I guess he was right.
Cars....MEH! I'm thinking about getting a horse.
Yesterday I ended up getting a bit more exercise than I had planned. I did a short 3 mile run at lunch and then decided I would ride my bike to the train station instead of driving home. Traffic was crap and I was still in a foul mood about my car and I thought it would be a good stress reliever. Little did I know that Mr. Murphy law would work against me. First off, I couldn't get my bike out of the back of the truck. The cargo cover was stuck and the bike wouldn't come out from underneath it. Then when I tried to lock the office door it wouldn't shut all the way because the metal was so hot and warped from baking in the sun. I finally had to close it from the inside and run around through the shop. Eeegads. But, I thought I still had time to make the train. I pedalled at record speed and made it there in about 20 min. just in time to see the train pull away. The next train wasn't until much later so I called hubby and told him to meet me in Kent. So, I kept pedaling my butt off. It was SO incredibly hot. But, I made it okay. Hubby had some ice cold gatorade for me. I nearly overdid it in the sun. But once I got home I made a yummy smoothy with lots of ice, chocolate milk, whey protein and a banana. That hit the spot until dinner was ready.
And now it is Friday, it is considerably cooler and I can't wait for the weekend. We've got some big decisions to make.
Back to work for me.
Oh, BTW, if you like Nick Drake or some nice acoustic guitar I recommend checking out Jose Gonzalez. He's got some great music.
