A birthday party far away from 'Sumimasen' ( I am entitled to a very selfish post per year, OK!)
Haha. Actually I have no idea how to spell the word, but you know what the word is right? You know, 'sumimasen!!' is what the waiters and waitresses and supervisors of a Japanese restaurant would say when a customer steps in their premise!
I'm still thinking of eating Japanese food. Woke up today and got an SMS saying 'i dreamt of sushi buffet!' Yeah, very helpful!
Anyways, here's the report for my birthday celebration: (or more like birthday day)
The night before I slept early because we went to MMU friendlies the whole day (it was awesome, I got to judge the top room and saw great debaters debate, am so thankful for that *come to think of it now, my birthday charm worked pretty early on) and I didn't sleep at all the night before that.
So I slept non-stop from half past ten pm until seven in the morning. After that I went back to sleep which was intermittently disturbed (positively) by SMSes wishing me 'happy birthday's. I read the messages half-asleep and went back to sleep with a smile. I think there couldn't be any cooler gift, you know, getting birthday wishes while sleeping in on a perfect Sunday morning! But the ultimate Birthday Wish woke me up: My friend passed a birthday card to my roommate who then left it on the threshold of my compartment. The card is cute. Seconds later, Yasat called and asked the venue for selections but of course I didn't know where it was cuz I didn't plan to try out. The cutest thing is he wished me and I didn't expect him to know my birth date since he's so impersonal... guess I was mistaken! (and I'm still wondering how he knows my birth date cuz obviously it wasn't Asmaa' who told him because they haven't met each other yet for that day... so I'm still wondering pleasantly)
So after that I took my shower, had my lunch and went to watch Selections (because Zati called and asked me to come without seeming like so) besides I did want to go watch the selection because I wanted to extend some moral support to the girls (cool fact: there were 2:1 ratio of women to men in the selection!)
After that we went out to OU to eat at Johnny's with Nabilah, Asmaa', Zati and Iera. My birthday present from Iera came in the form of a ride to OU! We had steamboat and sang a few songs in Cineleisure then had Dunkin Donuts then went back to campus. It was cool. In Johnny's, Asmaa' and Zati gave me a lavish gift, but the way she presented it to me was like "Sorry lah, me and Zati takde duit so ini je lah kitorang belikan ko" and she hands out a paper bag of Island Shop.
I was like "Ah? I finally get a lingerie on my birhtday!"
It was a metallic blue iPod-ish mp4 with 1 gigabyte memory. Cool! (and it hit me then that, that's why Asmaa' was stopping me from buying a thumb drive earlier in the morning!)
So that was my birthday. I'm so happy it was cool. It was cooler because I didn't plan it. It was just spontaneous. Looks like this year I'm gonna have to deal with a lot of spontaneity!!
