Alright guys, so I don't know where I'm at right now.
On one hand, the place in Ashburton is great. For 125 a week, I get a shared room with internet and laundry included.
I've heard good things about the placement agency, but I'm supposed to have started work today, and it got delayed until tomorrow, so I have some trepidation - I need to turn a profit of at least 1000 dollars in 7 weeks or this venture's useless. It should be more than doable if I have some level of steady work. I guess I'll see how it goes in the next few days. The landlord here did say that work is usually pretty steadily available from April-August and should really pick up in the next couple weeks.
shihadchick says that now (they said no last week when I was, you know, looking) her company is willing to offer me work until April 9th and I can't decide because seeing her and
jocondite but also getting up there and potentially no work after April 9th. Stupid decisions.
My credit card got suspended because of my purchase of plane tickets to Taiwan, but luckily there's a landline here that I could use to call my bank and get that straightened out. I also managed to get my bank account set up properly, so it'll be functioning now when I actually get money going into it. Hopefully that will be before my next week's 'rent' is due.
Oh and I need to decide what to do when/if Lori comes to visit me. NZ things still on my to do list:
Abel Tasman
Stewart Island
Queenstown
Arthur's pass
Waitomo
Northland
Cormandel
Anything else I should add to the list? Waiheke island?
Lori probably will only do the south island and I'm going through all my travel decisions again wrt her arrival - car or bus, hostel or couches, free or planned?
What shall I eat? I'm not used to shopping for myself anymore lol
