you don't text?

Alright. I am sick to death of what communication has come to. I am currently sitting, and have been sitting here emailing back and forth for over an hour. This bride, who is fervently trying to set up a trial time with me, happened to catch me while online. I think we have exchanged probably 6-8 emails with quick little sentences. The problem ( Read more... )

Okay, here is the email that I used to send to brides about scheduling a trial. Hopefully, it will help:

As far as scheduling a trial goes, my schedule is varied. Why don't you give me 3 or 4 dates and times that work for you in the period of 6 weeks before your wedding, and I will let you know which match my schedule. **Please note that the trial will last around 1 1/2 hours for one person, and an additional hour or each person after that. My typical availability is:

Mondays 12 to 7
Tuesdays 10 to 8
Wednesdays unavailable
Thursdays 10 to 8
Fridays from 11 to 6

Saturdays and Sundays are a bit more varied and mostly booked with weddings, but every so often I can fit a trial in (usually from Nov to Mar)-this is not a guarantee, though. If you do have a trial on a Saturday or Sunday, my arrival time has to be a bit more fluid, as I can't promise to arrive at a sharp time, in case my wedding runs late or the bride needs an errand. I have to devote myself to the brides on these days, just like I will do for you on your big day! Let me know what works for you!

Also, here is a checklist of things to have for the trial:

1. Photo of dress
2. Photo of bridal hairstyle
3. Photo of bridal attendant’s color scheme
4. Photo of floral theme
5. Photos of make-up that you like and dislike (Believe it or not, you can find great examples of make-up looks in magazines that show celebrities on the red carpet as opposed to bridal magazines.)
6. Wear the color and neckline of your gown---a tank or tube top works perfectly
7. Veil, headpiece, and jewelry on hand for the test shot
8. Clean skin--do your normal skin care routine right before the trial, just like you would on the big day.
9. The address and zip code of the wedding day make-up location

This will all help in designing the look for your wedding day, and maximize the effectiveness of the trial. Plan on the trial taking almost 2 hours. Contact me with any changes or questions. I look forward to it!

Best,
Deanna
