Last night was historic, there's no denying that fact.  Here are my remarks to those directly involved in the process:

See, that's why I like your writing so much. You are balanced. Too many people this time were so all-or-nothing in their support that you couldn't have any decent discourse.

I echo some others here. I don't think there was a chance in hell that McCain would win, not because of his campaign, but because Obama carried off a great campaign and had the momentum of anti-republican feelings behind him. The people were fed up and it was time for a change. I'm very glad that this didn't drag on as in the past. Thankfully it will also silence all the conspiracy theorists who were "sure" the Republicans would steal the election. Our system does work albeit not perfectly and there's no cabal of old white men behind the scenes directing the government.

When Obama and family walked on stage my partner said, "What happened to her dress?" But she'll find her style like most other First Ladies have in the past.

And, yes, all cable/network news politicos need to GO HOME. If I have to listen to Carville do another Foghorn Leghorn ramble again I'll smash the TV.
